Agata Kawa-Cajler

Polish violinist living in Sweden. Soloist, chamber musician, laureate of violin competitions. During the 2024/2025, she works as the associate concertmaster of the Folkoperan in Stockholm, as well as the Norrlandsoperan in Umeå. In her work, most of the attention she pays to the music of female composers.

A graduate of the Royal College of Music in Stockholm in the class of professor Cecilia Zilliacus and the University of Music in Lausanne in the class of professor Svetlana Makarova. In the academic year 2020/2021 she studied at the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra Academy.

 

She triumphed in violin competitions in Poland and abroad many times. She won first prize in the Valsesia Musica International Competition in Italy (2013), and also won the Swedish final of the Yamaha competition in Gothenburg (2016). In 2021, as part of Duo Andersson & Kawa, she got to the final

of prestigious Ung & Lovande competition which was broadcast by Swedish Radio.  

 

Since 2018, Agata Kawa-Cajler has been a concertmaster of Swedish symphony and chamber orchestras. As a soloist, she performed in Poland and Sweden, with the Gävle Symphony Orchestra conducted by Martin Virin, the String Orchestra of the Royal College of Music conducted by Ola Karlsson, the Young Podhale Philharmonic conducted by Wojciech Czepiel, as well as the Sånga Chamber Orchestra. She was leading the Camerata Nordica chamber orchestra, also as a soloist.

 

She participated in numerous master classes, perfecting her skills under the supervision of outstanding teachers including Grigori Zhyslin, Pavel Vernikov, Wanda Wiłkomirska, Kaja Danczowska, Yair Kless, Piotr Janowski, Magdalena Szczepanowska, Federico Agostini, Henryk Kowalski, Antoni Cofalik and Alena Baeva.

 

She was granted a scholarship by Sapere Auso Małopolska Scholarship Foundation, by the "Pro Bono Musicae" Association, as well as by the Swedish foundations Gålö and the Royal Swedish Academy

of Music in Stockholm. 

Since 2021, she has been teaching in the Nordic School of Music (Nordiska Musikgymnasiet) in Stockholm. She is also a member of the board of the Chamber Music Association in Uppsala.
